More Than Just A Graphic Designer
I've never imagined that I will become a graphic designer. Sure I loved computers, I always admired people who can draw and I loved watching Star Trek - still do - and I wanted to become a teacher. One would say I've got pretty far off... ...well, almost. I ended up in an Art School where I had a wonderful teacher who tough me a great deal about art and graphic design that I still cherish until this day. Being a graphic designer it's not just a profession for me, it's more like a lifestyle. I love creating, I love drawing and yes... I still love watching Star Trek. :)
Over the years I've happened to work in many different places filling multiple positions from visual merchandiser, sales assistant through web and graphic designer. I've been working for companies such as OBI, Vodafone, Brastop, Mail Boxes Etc, and I can safely say that I enjoyed every position that I had the fortune to work in.
I always loved working as a graphic designer. Creating great graphics, logos, brochures and magazine/newsletter layouts. However, over the years I've learned a lot about social media, online marketing, product merchandising, photo retouching, magazine design, typography... and the list goes on. Printing is part of my skills and I always enjoyed holding the finished product in my hand. Smelling the freshly printed leaflets, business cards, or just simply holding the first printed magazine I've designed it's just something that really exciting as an experience.

Why Rocktiger?
You probably wonder where the name rocktigerDESIGN comes from, right? When coming up the company name I wanted to choose something that has meaning, that serves a bigger purpose and also makes awareness of something that we love and care about.

Raising Awareness
Being a person who loves and cares for animals, loves cats and has a special connection to Taiwan I wanted to honour this beautiful creature as an admiration and also raising awareness to remind everyone to be more mindful. Our planet has changed a lot in recent years, forests gone, animal species disappeared and he exponential speed of climate change does not look good for our future. It's crucial to make steps towards a future that we can leave for our children and also to save these wonderful creatures in the beautiful island of Taiwan.
Leopard cats are small wild cats that used to widely inhabit low-altitude villages and easily accessible mountainous areas in Taiwan. Recent decades have seen a swift shrinkage of the leopard cat’s natural habitat due to human activity and land development. The exhibition, “Realm of the Leopard Cat,” also presents the outcomes of research and surveys into leopard cats in Taiwan, as well as illustrations created by a number of artists. Curator Chen Yen-chun (陳彥君) said the exhibition aims to promote the conservation of leopard cats in Taiwan and address the challenges of the work. The NMONS hopes that visitors will pay attention to the threats facing leopard cats’ survival on the island, and the urgent need to protect them.
Now it is estimated that there are less than 1,000 leopard cats in Taiwan, most of which inhabit undeveloped mountains in the central Taiwan region, according to the museum. The animal was listed as an endangered species by the Taiwan government in 2008.

Facing Extinction
In Taiwan the Leopard Cat (also called as "Joho" or as we like to call the "Rock Tiger") is currently endangered with less than 1000 cats living in the mid-Taiwan region in Miaoli county. This gorgeous cat species is in a brink on an extinction in Taiwan, many has been killed by road traffic and the situation in not getting any better with the defeated "Miaoli County Leopard Cat Conservation Autonomous Bill" that was an effort to help preserve the species as one of the only remainers of wild cats in this beautiful island.
